Baitadi: The Sudurpaschim Province is currently experiencing a surge in dengue infections, as reported by the Sudurpaschim Province Health Directorate. Hemraj Joshi, the Directorate's focal person, noted that the number of dengue cases is on the rise in the region.
In August alone, the province recorded a total of 353 dengue patients, with a noticeable increase in cases during this month. Over the past eight months, the province has documented a total of 680 cases of dengue infection.
Among the districts in the region, Kailali has the highest number of dengue patients, while Baitadi has the lowest. Kailali has reported 232 cases during this period.
It is noteworthy that, so far, there have been no reported deaths related to dengue this year, unlike last year when the province recorded four deaths attributed to the disease.
